Methodology:

Arrival is a dark love story, which talks not only about aliens, but how Louise, a linguist, could see the future of her family with knowledge of difficult outcomes through her visions. In the movie Arrival, they encounter an alien written language made up of complicated circular symbols. A similar treatment of the language will be used in this title sequence, and evoke a mood of calm and peace.

 

Moreover, a clean, sans-serif typography will be used to enhance the minimalist feel. Music chosen for this title sequence will be a mix from intense to peaceful, to mimic how the movie starts from telling a scientific story of these unexpected visitors, and Louise dealing with difficult outcomes.
